Our inspiration:

We began the study by observing the original work. We talked about the colors and tried to guess what the artist might have named this piece. Once the name was revealed, we thought about how the artist might have created it. Then we started our own work using this as inspiration. First, we drew concentric circles with markers, crayons, and colored pencils.

On another day, we created concentric circles using a different medium. Cray-Pas are oil pastels, and we used these because they are water resistant.

We finished our oil pastel pieces by painting over them with watercolors. The resulting effect was stunning!

Lastly, we traced, cut, and pasted circles of various sizes.
